Gun Import Permit

A shooter is allowed to bring in 2 shotguns maximum in Portugal. The mximum number of shotshells allowed depends on the airlines company.

1/ The EU citizens must show their European Firearm Permit.

2/ The non EU citizens must ask for a gun import permit directly to the Portuguse federation FPTAC:

Send your request by email to armas.fptac@gmail.com, no later than March 20th 2012, with the following documents:

• the gun form: Please fill in all the fields and issue one form per shotgun;
• the copy of your citizen identification card and the copy of your passport: if your country does not issue any citizen identification card, then join only the copy of your passport;
• the copy of the voucher with the serial number of the shotgun.

The FPTAC will send you the copy of your permit by email and will give the original to the customs authorities. Upon your arrival in Portugal, you will have to show the copy of the permit to the customs.
