Formalities for importing the gun(s) and/or ammunition into Czech republic 

  PREAMBLE

Act of Czech parliament No 119/2002Sb. on guns and ammunition - § 46 – transit of guns and ammunition:

1. Anybody who owns the approval – ZPL – « Zbrojní průvodní list » (Arms waybill) is entitled to temporarily import and use guns and ammunition in the Czech republic.

2. The holders of the European Gun Permit doesn't need to apply for the ZPL provided they have the guns written in this gun permit and they can show the notarised invitation from the organizers of the event and the entry confirmation.

3. The ZPL can be issued either by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in your country  prior to your departure (strongly recommended) or at the border police when entering Czech Republic.

4. The ZPL is issued on presentation of ZPL application form, dully filled, and accompanied by an notarised invitation from the organizers of the event and entry confirmation.

5. The shooters from outside the European union travelling by car with their guns into the countries of EEC must show an approval of each member state that he/she drives across. You will be asked theses documents along with the notarised invitation and your entry confirmation.
Remark: In case of arrival to Czech republic by air the ZPL is sufficient.

6. Anybody who crosses the Czech border with the guns and ammunition has to show them to the border police along with ZPL or European Gun Permit, the notarized invitation and entry confirmation for checking.

7. In case of travel to the European sporting championship, the issue of ZPL is exempt of any fees

PROCEDURE

A. Holders of the European Gun Permit (EEC residents)

1. The shooter enters to the event on www.fitasc.com;
2. The shooter receives by email the entry confirmation to the event (in case he/she is not able to receive it by email, he/she must ask FITASC secretary to fax it to him/her);
3. The shooter downloads the Notarized Invitation;
4. The shooter prints & fills in the invitation with his name and address;
5. The shooter informs the border police when entering Czech Republic that he is carrying the gun(s) and/or ammunition with him and shows to the police the above documents:

• European Gun Permit;
• Entry confirmation;
• and notarized invitation duly filled in) with the gun(s) for inspection.

B. Non-Holders of the European Gun Permit (Residents outside the EEC)

 
1. The shooter registers to the event on www.fitasc.com;
2. The shooter receives by email the confirmation of his entry to the event (in case he/she is not able to receive it by email, he/she must ask FITASC secretary to fax it to him/her);
3. The shooter downloads the Notarized Invitation;
4. The shooter prints & fills in the invitation with his name & address;
5. The shooter downloads prints & fills in the Application form of the ZPL  (Arms Waybill);
6. The shooter applies for ZPL:

• either at the Czech Embassy in his country of residence (strongly recommended),
• or at the Czech border with above documents;
  

In case the shooter gets his/her ZPL at the Embassy he must show the gun(s) and all the documents for inspection by the border police on crossing the Czech border.

The invitation is only valid for:

• importing shotgun(s) and ammunition,
• and for visa obtention (if necessary, please send a request for original letter of invitation by email to me2013.lz6@lesycr.cz ).
