For many years Graham Brown has hoped to run a shooting event at Lulworth Castle, but for many reasons it has never been possible. 2017 will bring the European Sporting championships to this glorious part of the United Kingdom. With the kind permission of the Weld family it will be hosted on the prestigious Lulworth Castle Estate. Not only the estate, but much of the surrounding area is renowned for its beauty with many areas being sites of special scientific interest (SSSI), areas of outstanding natural beauty (ANOB) and situated on the world famous Jurassic Coast it is difficult to be able to facilitate an event of this size in an area such as this.

We therefore request that wherever possible, you leave the area as you found it. With a wish to return in 2019, we will only able to do so if everybody plays their part.

It is a privilege beyond words to be able to use this site, and we must respect our hosts and their property at all times and for this we thank you in advance.

1. Visitor’s Shotgun Permit

To visit Great Britain with a firearm you will need to apply for a visitor’s firearm or shotgun permit at least 6 weeks in advance. Anyone attempting to enter Great Britain without a visitor’s firearm or shotgun permit will not be allowed to enter Great Britain with their firearms.

The police will refuse to grant a visitor’s permit where there are grounds for believing that the possession of firearms and ammunition in question represent a danger to public safety or to the peace e.g. if the applicant has a criminal history.

PLEASE NOTE: All criminal convictions have to be declared to UK police however old and regardless of whether they are viewed as spent in the applicant’s country of residence.


2. What do visitor’s permits allow?

Under section 17 of the Firearms Act 1968, a visitor to Great Britain may, if granted a visitor’s permit, have in their possession firearms, shotguns or ammunition without holding a certificate.

The holder of a visitor’s shotgun permit may have in his possession, purchase or acquire shotguns and is exempt from the requirement to produce a shotgun certificate when purchasing cartridges (which must contain 5 or more shot, none of which exceeds .36 inches in diameter).

Visitor shotgun permits do not allow the borrowing of shotguns for 72 hours as with UK shotgun certificates.

3. How to get your your Visitor’s Shot Gun Permit ?

3.1 Please send an email application to www.cpsa.co.uk/vsp with the following information:

a) Please fill all the information required on the part “About you”;

b) Please select the gun(s) you would like to travel with on your European Firearm Pass or on International Shotgun License ;

c) Please confirm the arrival and departure dates in the UK and hotel details;

d) Please select the option to send a copy of the European Firearms Pass to CPSA;

e) Please fill all the information on the part “Your Permit” (check the address where to send you the permit);

f) Please select the option to purchase or acquire (or win) a shotgun in the UK if this may apply.

g) Administration fee including postage and payment:

• £40 for individuals
• £150 for groups between 6 to 20 people. The people must be travelling to the UK at the same time to qualify for this
  

The payment must be received before the application is processed.

Credit card and bank transfer accepted. Cheques are not accepted as method of payment.

IMPORTANT:

Please note that CPSA will not be able to issue any Visitor Shot Gun Permit
15 days prior the competition.

You must apply for the visitor’s firearm or shotgun permit at least 8 weeks in advance.

4. Ammunition

No ammunition will be added to the Visitor Shotgun Permit – individuals must buy these on arrival in the U.K..

2. Travel by ferry

The company Brittany Ferries provides travels from Cherbourg port to Pool port (located 30 min from the shooting range) : http://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk.

Shooters who wish to bring their firearms and ammunitions, even in small quantity, must declare it during the booking. Before the date of departure, they will contact the transit Chief at the port of departure and complete de form «Firearms Declaration ».
