Formalities

1) Letter of invitation

2) Temporary import of weapons for EU citizens

The conditions of bringing in and taking out  weapons and ammunition to and from  Hungary for citizens of an European Union member country.

Traveling on the territory of the European Union with  weapons and  ammunition, the relevant document is the European Firearms Pass.
A person having the European Firearms Pass, do not need to apply for any other special permit from the Hungarian Police in order to travel to Hungary with weapons and ammunition, but  you must have with you the  letter of INVITATION (proof that you are going to participate in a shooting competition in Hungary)
Based on abovementioned, you just have to print out the letter of INVITATION from the competition‘s website and present it together with firearms pass to the customs eventually checking you.


3) Gun import licence for shooters of NON EU member countries

Please print out the letter of INVITATION and fill it, it must be in your possession during your stay in Hungary.

4) Update on sanitary requirements

a. EU citizens:

From July 1st 2021, Hungary will allow entry to persons holding the European Covid-19 Digital Certificate (QR code that can be read in all countries of the European Union).

This European digital certificate proves that:

• you have been vaccinated against COVID-19;
• or you have had a recent negative PCR test;
• or you are immune after contracting the disease.

b. Non-EU citizens:

Upon entering Hungary, shooters coming from non-EU countries have to provide the following documents:

• The invitation letter;
• A negative PCR test result not older than 72 hours before arriving, with result written in English.

The participants in the championship are also advised to bring the e-mail of confirmation of their registration to the championship.
The people accompanying a participant in the championship must print and fill in the invitation letter, leaving in blank data on shotgun.
IMPORTANT: if you need to present a negative PCR test to go back to your home country, you will be able to do a PCR test on Friday 16th July at the sponsor village and get the results by e-mail on due time before your departure.

We recommend you to contact the embassy of your country in Hungary if you need more information.

c. Citizens from Croatia, Austria, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia, arriving in Hungary by car

Except in the case of entry by civil aircraft, entry into Hungary from Croatia, Austria, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia, regardless of nationality or protection against the coronavirus, is possible without epidemiological restrictions, but providing other general conditions of entry (eg valid travel document) is necessary.

5) PCR Test

IMPORTANT: if you need to present a negative PCR test to go back to your home country, you will be able to do a PCR test on Friday 16th July at the sponsor village and get the results by e-mail on due time before your departure.
