FORMALITIES
1. Invitations
CTSAZ invitation letter for both Africa Championship
This CTSAZ invitation letter should ideally be personally addressed to you. Please email Lara (lara@ecomed.co.zw) and request your personal invitation.
2. Application form to bring in a shotgun in Zimbabwe
These invitation letters are valid only if accompanied by a properly completed 64620 – 4 F.R. 20 Application Form, in triplicate, as required under the Firearms Control Act.
Your completed documentation (all documents to be completed in black ink) must be handed in at the Firearms Desk of Victoria Falls International Airport (or port of entry into Zimbabwe), Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, where the attending Police Officer will ensure that your permit is supplied on production of this letter and the properly completed documents.
3. Firearm licence or ownership certificate
Every shooter will also need to bring with him his firearms licence or a document proving ownership of his firearm(s): for instance, the European Firearm Permit for EEC residents.
For visitors from the USA where licences are not issued, you will need your customs declaration form that is issued to you on departure from the USA.
4. Visit of South Africa
If you have planned a trip to South Africa on your way to or from Zimbabwe, please note that you have to fill an importation firearm form to enter with your firearm in South Africa.
CTSASA invitation letter to import the firearm in South Africa
This CTSASA invitation letter should ideally be personally addressed to you. Please email Sarah at the CTSASA to (ctsasa@netactive.co.za) and request your personal invitation.
The firearm importation form must be sent completed to the South African Police Service via email to cfrenquiry@saps.gov.za.
Important: the firearm importation form must be sent completed to the South African Police Service at least 6 weeks before they arrive.
This invitation letter is valid only if accompanied by a properly completed SAPS520 application form as required under the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 (as amended). For any help to fill in the form, please click here.
Your completed documentation (all documents to be completed in black ink) must be handed in at the Firearms Desk of Cape Town airport, where the attending Police Officer will ensure that your permit is supplied on production of this letter and the properly completed documents.
